First Aid & Emergencies

Stabilisation and treatment for cuts, fractures, burns, and other urgent injuries.

For urgent injuries that aren’t life-threatening, walk in or call ahead and we’ll be ready when you arrive. For life-threatening emergencies, call the national ambulance on 1990 first, then call us.

We can handle

  • Deep cuts and lacerations (cleaning, suturing, dressings)
  • Suspected sprains and minor fractures (splinting, referral if needed)
  • Minor burns and scalds
  • Insect, animal, and snake bites (assessment and first-line treatment)
  • Severe sunburn and heat exhaustion
  • Allergic reactions (including initial management of anaphylaxis)
  • Foreign-body removal (sea urchin spines, glass, sand)

When to call 1990

The national Suwa Seriya ambulance is free, fast, and the right first call for chest pain, suspected stroke, severe bleeding, severe breathing difficulty, loss of consciousness, or any situation where someone may need a hospital with intensive care. After calling 1990, call us — we can help while you wait, and we can liaise with the receiving hospital.
